Frequently Asked Questions

Logo Design

What is the process of designing a logo?

We take time to discuss with you what the business is offering, and what image you want to project. We establish all the possible applications for your new corporate identity so we can design with all end uses in mind.

Several logo options, completed as finished art are presented to you and then, after discussions and testing, one is fine tuned to become the final design. The logo is further developed to specify Pantone® printing colours, sign vinyl and paint swatches and embroidery thread colours for consistent reproduction by any print, sign or uniform supplier, now and for many years to come. The final design is supplied in a range of industry standard file types suitable for any use.

Can my old logo be updated?

Yes, we can simplify or enhance an existing logo you may have been using for many years but sometimes it is better to take a fresh approach and design something new.

Can you design all the stationery I need?

Yes, we can design a complete package of stationery - business cards, letterhead, envelopes, presentation folders, with compliments slips, note pads, stickers - any type of printed item. Presenting your corporate identity in a consistent graphical manner is very important. We deliver press ready files to the print provider of your choice.

Can you create custom maps?

Yes, designing custom maps is one of our specialties - maps for visitor guides, business locations, outdoor activities - maps for any purpose.

How do I correctly use my new corporate identity?

We can create a corporate style guide for you to distribute within your organisation as well as for print service suppliers. A style guide contains all the information needed for colour specification, correct and incorrect usage, fonts, document layout and signage.

Websites

What is a responsive website?

A responsive website is one which automatically adjusts its layout to suit phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer screens to provide an optimal user experience on the widest range of devices - easy reading and navigation without resizing and panning.

Mobile-friendly websites are an essential part of good Search Engine Optimisation. Google gives preference to responsive websites in search results so if your website is not fully mobile responsive your site is harder to discover as it will rank lower in search results.

This website is fully responsive and adapts for viewing on mobile devices without the need for a separate mobile website.

How do I get a domain name?

We arrange domain name registration and management for you via our hosting provider. Domain names for an Australian business, for example www.yourbusinessname.com.au simply require you to have an ABN or ACN. Other options include: .com .org .net .co .info .biz

What is web hosting?

Web hosting is a service that allows individuals and organisations to make their website accessible to the World Wide Web.

We design and develop all of the files which make up the website and upload them to the hosting server (computer) associated with your domain.

For fast, reliable and affordable web hosting we use hosting providers within Australia. They provide top quality technical support and customer service for our client websites.

How do I plan my website?

We provide guidance and suggestions on the best structure for your site. We plan your website so that users can find what they are looking for quickly and easily.

My website is old and out-of-date. Can you just edit that?

Because of the variety of software used to create websites and changing technology, we find it is much faster and more reliable to build a new site for you rather than try and fix an existing problem in your old site.

Once my website is finished can I edit it?

Many websites are only edited a few times a year and we can do that for you on a pro rata basis. If your website needs more frequent updates we provide a maintenance service for a fixed quarterly fee - just email us the updates required and we take care of it for you.

Websites designed for you or your staff to edit, are called Content Managed (CM) websites. We work with our hosting provider to develop custom designed CM websites if required.

Photography and Marketing

Do I need professional photos?

High quality images on your website or marketing materials are just as important as well written text. We provide all the photography required to complete your project - premises, products and people. If you have your own images we can often edit and enhance those for you.

What if I don't have the time or experience to write the text for my marketing materials?

For larger projects we use the copywriting and editorial skills of marketing communications consultant, Meredith Ashton. She can interview you or your key people and write all the text required for your website, brochures, press ads or any media use.
