I have always had an interest in vintage military aircraft, particularly the challenge of trying to photograph them in flight.
While travelling in the United States a few years ago, I was fortunate enough to be able to take a ride for the best part of an hour in the B-17G bomber "Sentimental Journey", restored and maintained by the dedicated volunteers of the Commemorative Air Force at Mesa, Arizona. As an added bonus we were escorted by two P-51D Mustangs. The experience is something I will never forget.
This beautiful aircraft first flew in 1944 and there are only a handful that are still airworthy today. Learn more about the B-17 "Flying Fortress" at Wikipedia.
